Painting Ideas

Welcome back after Christmas!  Work is very slow today, so I've been catching up on my blogs.  My very first stop is always Elements of Style.  I found the below picture from a previous post and was particular interested in the blue and white silhouette painting on the wall.

I love that color of blue and have a feeling it might be silimar to this Benjamin Moore color, "blue nose":

But then I also starting thinking about how I could recreate something similar.  Canvases are relatively inexpensive -- anywhere from $10 to $20 depending on the depth of frame.

Paint them that gorgeous Benjamin Moore blue then paint a silhouette in white (I already have enough black in my apartment!)  Here are some ideas of silhouettes:

How fun would the horse be above a bar?  Hmmmm ... what could kind of silhouette could I use ...

Oh and in looking for the Benjamin Moore blue, I saw this Chalkboard paint and totally want to paint a section of my kitchen wall with this -- fun way to perk up that area.
