Above is a photo of my desk, which can double as an entry table or buffet table. Love the photos I have above it, appreciate the storage space underneath and really enjoy using this as a desk. But it feels very average -- tasteful, but average.
When it comes to bold fabrics, I can be intimidated but would really like to step out of my comfort zone and incorporate a bold fabric that I absolutely adore into my apartment design. I've also noticed a trend of using strong bold prints in small spaces -- sticking to three colors but bold prints to make the space pop.
So with the following goals in mind: incorporate bold fabric/prints, create a very unique look and experiment in sewing (eeek!) I came across the following photos of skirted tables from one of my favorite blogs Elements of Style:
