This is Mup.
Mup has been in our family since Emily was a baby. We brought him along to Chicago to put in the condo my sister bought in October 2006, where I lived with her for almost two years before she got married. Look at those gorgeous hardwood floors (sigh.)
Mup has seen better days and I thought it might be a fun project to paint him in preparation for the Little One's arrival this July.
I am staying at my sister's condo with Jackson while she and my brother-in-law enjoy a few days in sunny Florida. What a perfect time for me to begin my project!
Step One: Tools
1 glass red wine
1 sanding pad
2 paint brushes
3 sample size Glidden paints
1 pint white paint from previous project in case I mess it up and have to "white" it all out
Emily is buying gorgeous bedding with blues and browns (see post below) so I thought I'd play around with similar colors and snagged these sample sizes for $3 a pop.
Mistake Number One: not considering that the sample paint is a matte finish and not gloss finish.
Mistake Number Two: beginning project with nasty head cold.
Result: I "white"ed everything out. (Ha, I didn't even take a picture of the in between stage, it was that bad.)
Plan B is to mimic the blue white and brown stripe found in the ribbon that will be tied around the crib. Stay tuned ;)
