I bought a pair of rain boots at JCrew in college for about $10 on sale -- they were a rubber version of a riding boot. And (pat on my back) this was before big riding boots where super stylish. But obviously they are classic.
ANYWAY!
I wore those trusty JCrew boots so much that I wore down the heel and water seeped in yesterday on my way to work. And not even water. The gross, gray, nasty snow slush on the streets of Chicago.
At the end of the day, I my socks on, then plastic bags, then the holey boots and walked on over to Nordstrom on Michigan Ave. About twenty minutes later I walked back out with these adorable Sperry Top Siders on my feet:
I felt like a little kid this morning walking in the snow with my bright yellow rain/snow boots on. And it really put me in a great mood because I HAD DRY FEET! Who'd-a-thought dry feet could make a person so happy. Thank goodness I am grateful for the small luxuries in life.
Cheers to you and your boot of choice!
