Switching Gears: Hot Tropical Beaches to Cinnamon Flavored Fall

My trip to the Bahamas was wonderful! The wedding was great and spending the weekend with my extended family was fantastic. My mom and I took a side-trip to Blue Lagoon Island and it was heavenly!! This was our first cruise and we had a great time on the ship -- I've already starting researching cruises we could take with Emily, Dan and little JJ.

Speaking of Jonathan James -- I get to see him tomorrow and I am SO excited.  He seems to have changed so much in the photos I've seen and I can't wait to get my hands on him and give him lots and lots of kisses.  (Are all aunts this nutty about their nieces and nephews?!)

Ok now to the point of this blog posting: As I sit at my desk sipping my cinnamon flavored coffee I am wishing I could cuddle into a big blanket in front of a huge fire with my favorite book.  The fireplace thoughts are leading to thoughts of the crisp fall air, leaves crunching under your feet, carving pumpkins, decorating the house for Thanksgiving and then Christmas, watching the very first snowfall of the season.

The Fall season seems to hold so much unknown, something exciting and new waiting just around the next corner.  At a time when the leaves are falling, the flowers are fading I still feel a sense of excitement for what is to come; strange how that "new" feeling of the season is so contradictory to the actual weather of the season.  I can only assume the "new" feeling comes from years of starting the new school year in the fall -- new classes, new sports teams, new people to meet.  As I move further away from my days of school, I really hope I never lose that "new" feeling that seems to be deeply rooted in me.

There's a beautiful fireplace in my sister's condo and here she is taking a nap with Jackson.  One time I pulled my matress off my bed and Jackson and I slept for the night in front of the fireplace!

Which do I want to curl up on?

I'd happily take any of the above!  Cheers to you and your favorite fall features.
