FINE BY ME!!
Two of my bestest friends have asked me to be in their weddings. Nikki is getting married in September 2011 here in Chicago and Collins is getting married in October 2011 in Sea Island, GA. The weddings are two weeks apart! I am very excited for both, and beyond honored that each wants me to be such a big part of such a HUGE celebratory day. I also love that I'll be along to support and love these couples for years and years to come.
Up first, the dress for Nikki's wedding -- Love by Enzoani -- the dresses will be a deep wine/eggplant. There are three seperate designs we could each chose from and I chose the one below -- I think this will look best with my hourglass figure.
We'll be wearing black satin heels (all different) and buying broches for the center of the bow. Two of the other designs already have embellishments, so the three wearing this style will get create a similar look. I love that these dresses are a classic line with such a glamorous flair. That's exactly Nikki's fashion sense -- classic foundation with modern and glamorous accent pieces. I am thinking a big up do with this dress to accentuate the length of shoulders and neck. Something like the below:
Next up, the dress for Lauren Collins' wedding. Sidenote, these models need to eat SOME FOOD! We will all wear the same dress, below, made by Melissa Sweet in cocoa brown. Looooove wearing brown and I bet Collins will pick gold jewlery which will look delicious and classic. I've never worn a dress cut like this at the top or that low in the back, so I am definitely looking forward to something new for me!
I think a low simply bun would be best for this neckline -- something to draw the eye towards but not distract from the gorgeous detail on the neckline. A side bun is very trendy right now but I don't care because 1) it's a flirty twist to the traditional bun and 2) how fun to look back on wedding photos and enjoy the styles that time-stamp the photos (like the velvet brown and green dresses my mother's bridesmaids wore in 1973! Oh don't even get me started on the BROWN tuxes my dad and his groomsmen wore!)
